Facebook and Pinterest are great. However, more of our time should be focused on the people in our lives that mean the most to us. Whether it is a teacher, neighbor, parent, child, friend, grocery store clerk or stranger, so many people make such an impact and deserve to be recognized. This blog is dedicated to heros in or lives that inspire us to try and do better.

Feed the Homeless
My friend Erika T. needs to be recognized for her kind acts. Her and her husband went on a date this past weekend and she didn't eat much of her meal at dinner. She asked for a to go box and they left the restaurant. Not to far from the restaurant was a man holding a cardboard sign. She bent down and handed him her meal and told him this was a meal for him but she wished she had a brownie or something for him. She opened her wallet and gave him some money so that he could buy some dessert. This reminded Erika's husband why she loves her so much. Thanks for your example Erika!

Stranger at the grocery store
Today my hero was a sweet woman who helped me at the grocery store. Shopping for nine people is quite the chore. I was out of a lot of food so I had three carts to take out of Walmart. The cashier said she would ask someone to help me out but I waited and got impatient. I took the first cart all the way out to my car. I came back in to get the other two carts and as I was struggling pushing one and pulling the other, a sweet woman saw me and asked me if I needed help. I usually would say that I was fine and that I didn't need help. For some reason, maybe just that I was so grateful someone offered, I decided to take her up on it. My car was only about 30 feet away but she helped me so much. If anything, I am just glad there are still good hearted people in this world. The next time I see someone that looks like they need help, I am going to pass on her kindness. Thank you my Walmart hero where ever you are, you made my day!
